Yeah it's immediately obvious when you see such dominant Johto representation in the pokemon shown: Lugia, obviously, , , , etc Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You was made to celebrate the origins of the series for the 20th Anniversary, and, while Marshadow was a bit shoehorned in, I absolutely loved it. They are now merely following on the Toy Story Group Of Friends You’ve Got A Friends in Me T-Shirt same alt-version of events. Will it last? I hope so... at least for a while. It’s very endearing to see a fresh take on old stories — though like most I was sad about Misty and Brock’s exclusion. I can see them reverting it back after Sun and Moon, sadly. (I love S&M: the art style is far more fluid, if jagged and purportedly by some ‘childish.)

The safety pin on both outfits is a play on grunge but also the traditional Scottish kilts have pins on them. It’s very punk rock.
